This recipe was inspired from a little burger joint in Palo Alto, California.   My husband and I stumbled upon it while catching the train into San Francisco for a Giants Game.   Ever since that first bite, I would crave this delicious, moist turkey burger.  We would stop there every time we traveled through.  Unfortunately, this great little spot has since closed.  I have attempted to recreate it, and I do believe this is the best version to date.  If you are a burger lover, and it’s been difficult to transition to a healthier turkey burger, you will love this.  My secret is….. It is packed full of tasty, sweet ingredients.  Let me know how you like it?

Napa Valley Turkey Burger Recipe serves 6

  • 1 pound organic ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup organic red onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cranberries
  • 1/2 cup organic celery chopped
  • 1 organic shredded green apple(skin removed)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil or coconut oil

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.  Roll into 6 medium patties or 8 smaller patties.

Heat a large pan over low heat adding patties when warm.  Cook on low each side 5 minutes.  When the meat starts to change color increase heat to medium.  One of the keys to this recipe is slow, low heat.  Increasing it at the end sealing in the flavors.
